309- I’m finally understanding flash. It took a class and a half to get it but I think I’m doing pretty well..

You guys should probably click these links and see what I’m making. I’m pretty excited to finish the ex2. I’m going to have the woman walk up to a bunch of bananas and pick one. That one will be the happy banana. I’ll eventually make the wheels of the cart spin.
414- We were assigned our projects, I’m doing a CD cover for Tim, my boyfriend. Also I’m doing a travel brochure, or three. I’m also going to pump out some more postcards with that project. Jamie Riggs and I are going to work on the art department client project together making a stand/showcase for the postcards to sit on. We’ve got a few different ideas.
317- I’ve done pretty well getting my first website working with the html and all. I can’t wait to upload it to show people. haha. Not that half of them will care about the questions on it but just to have my own space, that I made. Thats the neat thing.
Internship- I meet with Kelly Roe today to fill out paperwork for my internship and I meet with Michelle at OOC (Operation Oswego County) to get my first assignment. I’m pretty excited to have the ability to go into industrious places in Oswego County and photograph them. I’ll probably lug my gigantic tripod around with me too just in case there are low lighting situations.
things as of lately-
414 – Today I had a portfolio review and worked on my project ideas in 414. I felt pretty good about what P. Kerr had to say about my portfolio.
I need to work on my brochure from 307, line the text and images boxes up with each other and get rid of the stroke on the text boxes. Also I should pick a strong style notebook and keep that large but under it include the other 5 but in smaller format under it on the same page. I thought that was a good way to incorporate all of my style notebooks and cut down the costs on printing them all out again seeing I messed up the first time.
I decided I may want to make 3 travel brochures for one project. Take a bunch of my Kingston, Ontario photos and collect some more if I go for my birthday. Also, make two more, probably one of Oswego and one of Syracuse.

For my other project I’m torn between two ideas. I want to make a CD booklet and cover for Tim, my boyfriends solo project. This will be his 5th or 6th or 7th or whatever CD and I want to help out with it. He can act as the client and give me some ideas and I can draw up some sketches and roughs and see where to go with that.
OR the other idea I had was to incorporate my recipe pages for a Live Journal themed journal swap you can see that here. I’d like to make this somehow into an interactive website where readers can submit images and recipes as well as the ones I’d post. I’d also form them into new pages without using the illegal images I swiped off Google image searches. Ha!
309 – God I love the idea of flash but I’m so lost right now. It doesn’t help the fact Cara is teaching 409 simultaneously and can’t be everywhere at once. The TA unfortunately wasn’t understanding my questions and I felt really dumb. I guess it’s okay seeing it was my first 2 hours with the program. I’ll have to look up some tutorials on the net. I understand one on one time is very hard for such a large class but it seemed everyone was getting it but me. But that could be me being dramatic about it, I can’t tell yet.
MISCELLANEOUS – I watched Born in East LA last night. It’s a cheesy late 80’s comedy film, unfortunately it wasn’t a film you guys recommended to me. I tried finishing Pineapple Express last night too, but I got too tired. I think I’ll finish that in a few minutes after this post. I also bought 2 movies while I was buying textbooks off Half dot com. I got The big White, a 2005 film with Robin Williams, and Taxi Driver, the ‘76 film by Martin Scorsese with Robert Di Nero. I suggest both to you guys if you haven’t seen them.
